Company Profile

ISO 9001:2008 Certified

Founded in 1912 in Brooklyn, NY by Willie Goodman, Industrial Rivet & Fastener Company has grown from a small, local operation with four employees to a global distributor, manufacturer and importer with eight international locations, 10 U.S. distribution centers and nearly 50 employees. Yet, after nearly 100 years Industrial Rivet is still family-owned and operated. As a result, this fourth generation company remains dedicated to the core values upon which it was built – offering its customers a superior, robust product set, outstanding service and unmatched quality.

Superior, Robust Product Set

Industrial Rivet today has one of the industry’s largest inventories of off-the-shelf products that range from standard to highly specialized rivets, available in any head style, length, material and finish including:

  • Blind rivets
  • Speed rivets
  • Rivet nuts
  • Solid rivets
  • Semi-tubular rivets
  • Split rivets
  • Shoulder rivets
  • Collar rivets
  • Drive rivets
  • LockBolts

The company also offers a wide range of proprietary riveting products, as well as sophisticated automated rivet tools and delivery systems. Plus, a vast manufacturing network means that Industrial Rivet is uniquely able to design, manufacture and engineer both custom and ready-made products, starting production quickly and giving clients access to lower-cost alternatives imported from the company’s overseas facilities, as well as products made exclusively in the U.S. Read more about Industrial Rivet’s product offerings.

Outstanding Service

At Industrial Rivet, company executives are very hands-on and always available to customers to talk through issues or help make critical decisions quickly. And with its on-the-ground presence in 10 locations around the country, customers always have access to factory representatives, technical support and applications engineering staff to answer questions and resolve challenges.

More than this, Industrial Rivet approaches its operations from a solutions-driven standpoint. They work closely with distributors and their customers to find out exactly how a rivet will be used. Many times an off-the-shelf product is the right answer, but sometimes even subtle engineering changes can enhance the performance of a rivet. It is this expertise and attention to detail that sets the company apart, ensuring that customers get not just what they asked for – but also exactly what they need.

Quality Control

Delivering the right product and at the right time is important, but to Industrial Rivet it is only part of the equation. Since rivets are permanent, they must be of the highest quality, which is why the company uses an advanced computerized quality control system to inspect each and every one of its products in terms of both consistency and reliability.

Additional quality control systems are in place for specific products such as the company’s Salt Spray chamber that confirms the effectiveness and longevity of plated material in an accelerated corrosive environment. Shear, tensile and break load testing is also performed onsite regularly to gauge the structural integrity of each inspected product.

As a result, Industrial Rivet as a whole has been ISO certified for more than a decade and many of the company’s manufacturing facilities are also TS16949 accredited. The company is also currently in the process of obtaining A2LA accreditation for 2011.
